Well hello there!  I'm back in the swing of things...trying again...for the millionth time.  I'm not sure why I suck so bad at blogging.  I love reading blogs, I just never feel that I have anything important to say.

So here's where we are.  I still have a monkey baby.  And I'm certainly not almost a newlywed...I'm practically not even a newlywed anymore!  I'm moving toward my 2 year anniversary in a month or so!

So here's where we are...I got a new job back in March.  It was a very happy surprise that in some ways seemed to fall in my lap.  In other ways I fought my ass off for it.  The moral of the story is don't ever give up.  You never know when something will happen that will make everything seem worth while.

My life is still quite boring, but I think if I could just focus on the brain clutter, I might be interesting.  So I'm back.  Making this a new priority for now...let's see what happens.

Here's a picture of my crazy monkey...just because she's a looney toon.  she was actually annoyed that I bugged her from sleeping like that.  weirdo...

Also, does anyone else think this season of big brother is freaking AWESOME!  Way more upsets and back doors that usual.  It's a good group of players!

Blogging fail...again

So, I couldn't muster the daily picture posting. it became so daunting when I missed a few days and then I just gave up all together. It's not that I didn't think of it, or have anything to say, it's just this pressure sensor that when I open this page, I become completely overwhelmed and so I do nothing.

I hate that in life in general. It's so easy to get caught up in the everything so you choose to do nothing. I don't want to be like that, so I'm making an effort to compartmentalize and make changes that I can get my mind around. Baby steps.

I'm entering into a new time in my life. That fortune on January 1st came true. I start a new, really exciting career opportunity a week from Monday. I'm heading into my last week at a job I have held for 8 years. It's strangely bizarre to be moving on from the only company I've ever known. I'm anxious, sad, excited and nervous all at the same time. It's such a positive feeling of overwhelmed that I can't quite explain it. My coworkers and mentors are so excited and proud to see what I'm going to become. It's flattering and scary all at the same time.

So that's where I'm at. Oh, and we decided to put new floors in my entire upstairs over the past week. I'm thrilled with the result, but I find it ironic what we choose to take on and when. As if finding new suits and clothes to wear to work every day weren't enough.

I'm coming back to you baby blog. This year is going to be something, and I want to remember it

The day the tire fell in the pool

So, we have a dog...and a pool. We don't want the dog to fall in the pool this winter, so we built a barricade. As mentioned earlier tonight, it fell in today. Stupid wind.

So I thought I would capture the beauty that is currently my back yard. Artistic snowflakes and all.

Fit bit'n

In case you haven't been made aware of the awesomeness of the Fitbit, I will enlighten you. This tiny device will track your steps using the Nintendo Wii technology as well as you total caloric burn based on your basal metabolic rate. It's fantastic.

Breaking the Ice

So, I was doing pretty well and then I fell off the wagon. I didn't get busy necessarily, but summer did commence. We finally got our pool up and running and now we have had a steady stream of people over to enjoy it with us.

I'll be honest, this is one of the best summers I can remember. We have had a very relaxing mix of friend time, family time and us time. It's been great and part of me wants to say I never want it to end, but a part of me is ready for football and the crispness of the fall air. Soon enough, I'm sure!

So, since I haven't had much to say lately, I found this on another blog and so I'm stealing it. Kind of a meme, but kind of just more information about me for people that don't quite know what I'm about just yet.

Here we go!

Questions:
1) Tell one thing not many people know about you.

I'm incredibly sensitive, but I try to play it off that I'm not. I have to really concentrate on not over analyzing things people do and say.

2) If you HAD to change your first name, what would you change it to?

Elizabeth or Katelyn - I've always wanted a name that I had lots of options for nicknames

3) What are your 3 favorite songs of the moment?

Rolling in the Deep - Adele

Story of Us - Taylor Swift

Temptation - Billy Joel

4) List 3 goals on your life's to-do list:

Have a crazy successful career

Have a family

Visit Australia

5) What is one of your favorite quotes?

This was from the show Samantha Who - does anyone remember that? I liked it...but I thought this quote spoke volumes of my slight control freak nature

"I was reading an article once and it said that happiness comes from realizing the things you just can't control and controlling them anyway - even if it kills you."

6) Fill in the blank:

If I had an extra 10 dollars to spend . . I would take my husband out for wine and cheese tonight...I intend to do that anyway

7) What’s your birth date?

July 7, 1982

8) Do you have a hidden talent and if so what is it?

Not really. I have a knack for reading people, but I don't know if that's really a talent. I just can quickly see how people's minds work. It's a great thing for engaging teams, which is a passion of mine.

9) What do you think of when you hear the word "blue"?

Sky. I love a crisp blue sky. Especially in the winter.

10) Finish this thought: I need . . .

to pay my dentist bill!

That's enough for today. More to come!

Me against the Water

I have an inground pool. Be jealous for all of .03 seconds, then come to terms with the fact that owning a pool is less fun than having a friend/family member with a pool. You see, this particular year, the hubatron and I have both been working a garbage ton of hours. Combine that with a late opening due to weather and then a hole in the pool liner, and we are sitting pretty on June 22nd still unable to swim in the pool.

I also work an off shift and am usually not home until around midnight. So last night, the big man decided that we should really make an effort to get the muck off the bottom of the pool. So out we go in our suits attempting to clean leaves and muck and possibly dead animals from the bottom of the pool. We didn't get very far before the mosquitoes made a 5 course dinner out of me, I started to whine and we called it a night.

Needless to say, I'm just rooting for a pool party sometime before the end of July...

Since this post was kind of lame I will leave you with a picture of my cutie girl. She takes after me and is quite serious about her reality TV.

The day Kona went to Lighthouse Pools and Spas

So, my husband has a bizarre love of taking the dog with him on errands. He gets to be the "fun one" because whenever he goes anywhere he's all "come on Kona..let's go for a car ride!". And she runs to the door tail wagging like he's her hero.

Well, my husband also has a knack for being less than observant. See Kona is like a shark. You can't turn your back for a second or she seizes the opportunity to make a break.

So today, the big man needed to get a bag of filter stuff. So off we go in the car. When we arrive to Lighthouse, Adam opens up the door and Kona makes her move. She takes off like a banshee and runs through the parking lot like a wild wildebeest.

We both chase after her but quickly realize the only way to get her back is to lure her into the store (note, I'm not sure the employees agreed this was a good plan). So that's what we did. She went to check it out and we were able to wrangle her back into the Rogue.

Moral of the story, Kona's car privileges may need to be revoked. Or Adam needs to realize that Kona is smarter than him and act accordingly.
